New Technologies and Spin-out Companies

Thu 29 03 2007

Middlesex University is holding an event on the 29th of March 2007 to examine the commercialisation of new technologies and spin-out businesses originating from the university sector.

New technology and its adoption is an essential part of a healthy economy.

Universities play an essential role in developing new technology and intellectual property through research.

Increasingly universities are spinning-out companies in order to commercialize a wide range of new and exciting technologies in sectors such as Life Sciences, Nanotechnology and Materials Sciences.

Universities engage with industry in various ways; knowledge transfer partnerships, joint ventures and contract research; all are important ways that the university sector can work together with business.

This symposium will explore the different ways that business can develop profitable and rewarding relationships with business and the role universities are playing in contributing to the intellectual capital of the economy.

This symposium is aimed at businesses, research active academics, venture capitalists, and business service providers that can support spin-out companies and start-ups.
